Seven convicted sex offenders were arrested in Texas for violating parole restrictions after MySpace.com provided police with their subscriber information. Six of the offenders were prohibited from using the Internet as a condition of their release from prison, and another violated parole by failing to register as a sex offender, according to a statement by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott.

Bob Barker kick-started his retirement by winning his 19th Daytime Emmy while helping former employer CBS dominate the 34th annual awards. The 83-year-old former emcee of "The Price Is Right" won for game-show host Friday night, beating a field that included last year's winner, Alex Trebek of "Jeopardy!" "Come on down!" presenter Ellen DeGeneres shouted.

Citizen Kane, Orson Welles's powerful portrait of an unscrupulous media baron, beat back an assault from The Godfather on Wednesday to retain its title as the greatest American film. Film critics, historians and experts voted Kane as the top US film for the second time in a decade in a poll conducted by the American Film Institute. The results were revealed in a three-hour CBS special 100 Years, 100 Movies, 10th Anniversary Edition.

Creating a website to generate income online is one of the most common methods these days. You can earn money from a website by:

A siren blares and whistle-blowing waiters race in to the “Mexican Hat Dance.” It’s time for the hourly tequila attack at the Carlos ’n Charlie’s on this Caribbean Sea island. The target is an inebriated female with seven gal-pals. The waiters crown her with a sombrero, toss a serape over her shoulders and pour a stream of golden liquid into her mouth — turned up like a baby bird’s. Liquor-plying mission accomplished, a disc jockey swaps the peppy Mexican melody for T-Spoon’s “Sex on the Beach.”

It looks like Paris Hilton, spoiled heiress and family pride of the hotel chain magnates Rick and Kathy Hilton will soon be seeing the inside of a minimum security prison cell, or more likely, posh California penal country club for wayward socialites. Though she seeks to appeal her sentencing, it seems the hammer of society will finally fall on the deserving Ms. Hilton, leaving countless celebrities to question, What went wrong?

Angelina Jolie is shrinking. The one time voluptuous starlet just ahd a very rough weekend as "A Mighty Heart" tanked and performed poorly ate the box office. She looked gaunt at the red carpet premiere of the film and despite great reviews for the film based on the book by Mariane Pearl it was panned by the public.

Ferrari has dismissed performance development chief Nigel Stepney after accusing him of attempted sabotage. Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Tuesday that the Briton had been dismissed after an internal investigation. Ferrari had earlier started court proceedings against Stepney after accusing the former technical manager of the team of being involved in an incident ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix during which a mysterious powder was found on the gas tanks of their two cars.

In the brief history of film, advances in technology have from time to time challenged and changed industry models. These advances have wrought their most significant changes on independent sectors of the movie business. In the glory days of the studio system, a parallel or serious rival to that system coming from the independent industry would be unthinkable; the cost and challenge of production and post-production was prohibitive, difficulties of promotion insurmountable. The Internet and many new digital distribution technologies are now starting to remove barriers for the makers and distributors of independent films.

An international line-up of pop stars has paid tribute to Princess Diana at a memorial concert watched by her sons princes William and Harry and a crowd of 60,000 at London's Wembley Stadium. Elton John, friend of the princess who sang at her funeral, opened with Your Song in front of giant photographs of Diana taken by Mario Testino that were beamed on to the stage backdrop, and closed proceedings more than six hours later

My top 10 ways to improve search engine rankings are based on 7 years of banging my head against the world wide web's search engines and reading numerous books on top 10 SEO tactics. Let me say first of all that there are a lot of books, sources and tutorials that make promises of getting your website into the top 10 spots on the major search engines. Most of these are self promoting and the end result is that you have to hire these people to accomplish the things they say you can do on your own.

Microsoft announced on Thursday it expects to spend more than a billion dollars fixing flawed Xbox 360 video game consoles, which have logged "an unacceptable number of repairs." The blow to Xbox 360's reputation comes as it vies in the marketplace with Sony's languishing PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's coveted Wii consoles, which made their debuts in November of 2006. Microsoft reports it has sold approximately 11.6 million Xbox 360 consoles since its US launch at the end of 2005.

"Transformers" opened yesterday, and there is a certain group of 30-something males who were both salivating over the prospect and dreading it. The men who grew up on the popular '80s TV cartoon and toy line are no longer children awed by the ability to recreate the robots' epic battles on their living-room floors. But many of them have kept and even expanded their Transformers toy collections over the decades, and now want to see how director Michael Bay interprets their childhood obsession.

Apple sells its new iPhone handsets at more than double production costs, according to estimates by ISuppli Corp, a technology industry researcher.
