Jonathan M. Moore, Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina, will preside over a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open a school in Fojnica that was renovated by the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22 at the primary school in Fojnica.
Joining Mr. Moore in Fojnica for the opening will be Fojnica Mayor Salko Merdzani and Principal Mujo Zahirovic, as well as representatives from the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation, Defense Attaché Office, and the United States European Command. Each year, the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation conducts Humanitarian Assistance projects throughout BiH. This summer, the Office of Defense Cooperation and the U.S. European Command funded an overhaul of the Fojnica primary school’s electrical system, plumbing, windows, doors, and façade. More than 450,000 (USD) was spent on the project. The work was done by the BiH-based firm, Company Jelen and supervised by the Office of Defense Cooperation.
